This is my piece for the #Cosmosys-Art IX exhibition with the theme "Illusions".
To illustrate the theme of Illusions, I used a photo of my friend and decided to have a dragon tattoo coming to life! I reseached motifs to bring more historical value to the piece and included a poem by Zhang Jiuling to make it look like a scroll painting~
The translation of the poem:
The moon, grown full now over the sea, Brightening the whole of heaven, Brings to separated hearts The long thoughtfulness of night ~Zhang Jiuling
The face is too detailed in comparison with the rest of the picture. On top with the way he's posed, it makes his face look detached from the rest of the body- looking more like it was copy and pasted onto it.
The face definitely pops out more than it should, it distracts the eye from the rest of the picture. Aside from that, I think everything else is balanced with one another. It's a very beautiful composition.
